Strawberry Ooey Gooey Bars

Strawberry ooey gooey bars are easy and decadent dessert bars! They’re a fun recipe variation of classic ooey gooey butter cake bars!

Have you ever had ooey gooey bars before?  In some areas, these yummy squares might be referred to as chess squares, but no matter how you slice it, this is one of those tasty desserts that everyone should have in their recipe file.

Strawberry Ooey Gooey Bars

These Strawberry Ooey Gooey Bars are so simple and yummy!


  • 2 – 15.25 oz box of strawberry cake mix
  • 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened 
  • 1 C sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 C whole milk 
  • 1 3/4 C white chocolate chips plus  
  • 1 – 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 C white chocolate chips, melted 
  • 1 disposable piping bag


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9×13 baking dish with pam baking spray

  2. Using a standing mixer, beat together the cake mix, butter, sugar, eggs, and milk until combined

  3. Evenly spread about 1/2 – 3/4 of the strawberry dough into the bottom of the pan 

  4. Sprinkle the 1 2/3 C of white chocolates onto the strawberry layer

  5. Evenly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the white chocolate chips

  6. Scoop the remaining batter into small balls and place evenly over the chocolate chips, flatten the dough

  7. Place into the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes 

  8. Allow bars to cool completely before cutting
