Red & White Christmas Cupcakes

These Red and White cupcakes remind me of candy canes. I didn’t add any candy canes to mine but you can always crush some up and sprinkle on top or place a miniature candy cane on top.

If you don’t have time to make homemade cupcakes, you can always use a box cake mix or pick up a dozen fro your local bakery. No one is going to know if you don’t tell them.

Remember the Holidays are meant to be shared with family and friends not stressing yourself out.

  • 12 chocolate cupcakes cooled and ready for decorating
  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 3-5 tbsp milk
  • Red gel food coloring

  1. Using a stand/electric mixer, start beating your softened butter, sugar and milk until completely smooth. Divide into two bowls.
  2. Color one bowl of buttercream with 1/4 tsp of red gel food coloring. Mix until completely tinted.
  3. Prepare your piping bag with your desired tip and put it inside a glass or mug. This will hold it open for you and make it easier to scoop the buttercream into it.
  4. Scoop your white buttercream into one side of your piping bag and your red buttercream into another side.
  5. Frost each cupcake and enjoy!
