Nothing screams Easter more than some egg-shaped treats. I’m already a huge fan of Oreo truffles, so I couldn’t resist and give them a festive makeover. Normally, I opt for a batch of carefully-painted hard boiled eggs as my Easter masterpiece. I then thought, “Why not go for something different this year?!” I think my Oreo truffles will be perfect for this year’s celebrations. It’s a fun twist to a classic Easter look. Your kids will have so much fun decorating these Oreo truffles. The sky’s the limit with color, designs… and the number of sprinkles you put on!
Oreo Easter Eggs
- 18 Oreo cookies
- 4 oz half a brick of cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups white chocolate
- Sprinkles of your choice
Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
Using a food processor, grind Oreo cookies until you get thick crumbs. Place in a large bowl and mix in cream cheese.
With your Oreo and cream cheese mixture, form egg shapes about 2 inches in size. Place on lined baking sheet. Freeze for 10 to 15 minutes.
Melt white chocolate using the double-boiler method. Dip each Oreo egg in the melted chocolate, enrobing the truffle in its entirety. Place on lined baking sheet. Add sprinkles.
