The laundry room is more than a place to store dirty clothes and do the laundry. It’s also a great place to store cleaning supplies and some of those other items you want to keep close at hand but out of sight. These include things like extra light bulbs, household tools, dust cloths and similar items that have nowhere else to go. Most laundry rooms are small so keeping things neatly organized is important.
Here are three tips for organizing the laundry room to help you get started:
- Use baskets, bins and stackable drawers to organize all the small items and stack them on the shelf in your laundry room. This way, everything has its own place, making it easy to find what you want and to put things away. Be sure to label everything once it’s all organized.
- If you don’t have any shelves in your laundry room, invest in a rolling storage cart with a slim design. These are narrow so they don’t take up much space but long so you have plenty of shelf space for your bins, baskets and cleaning supplies.
- Install a behind-the-door rack to keep all of your laundry detergent and other cleaning supplies neatly organized. Everything from your washing powders to your window cleaner will be neatly put away.
These tips will help keep your laundry room neat, clean and free of clutter while keeping everything readily available for when you need it.
