When the cold weather sets in the kids usually start to get restless. They can’t get out and burn off all that extra energy like they do during the warmer months. Before long, boredom sets in. The next thing you know, everyone starts to get cranky and a little too rowdy for indoors but you don’t have to let the cold weather get in the way of having fun with your family.
Here are three things to do with your kids when it’s cold outside:
- Go sledding or skating. Playing around in the snow is so much fun and skating is a great way to burn off some of that excess energy. Just be sure to dress in layers, don’t stay out in the cold for long periods and sip on a cup of hot chocolate to warm up when you’re done.
- If going out in the cold is not for you, perhaps sharing a bowl of popcorn while watching a great family movie is more to your liking. Watch classic Christmas movies or look for new ones that cater to families. Afterwards, sit around and discuss the things that happened in the movie and have each person talk about their favorite part.
- Work on craft projects together. Kids never get tired of making things and there are so many different crafts to try that you’ll never run out of ideas.
Don’t spend your winter sitting around being bored. Look for fun and exciting things to do with your kids and enjoy the season to its fullest.
