It’s baking season and we are using lots of sugar for all those cookies and cakes and pies we are baking. Here are 3 great uses for the extra you have on hand.
Get soft lips for pennies
A natural way to exfoliate lips: Mix ½ tsp of olive oil and 1 tsp sugar mix into a paste and apply to lips. You can also add a drop of essential oil. Then wipe off with warm moist cloth. The sugar helps remove dead skins cells and the oils moisturize your lips.
Clear up a blemish
The holiday season has us eating foods that cause us to break out. To eliminate your blemish: before going to bed combine 1 tsp sugar and a few drops of water to make a paste. Use a cotton swab to dab the mixture on the affected blemish, Leave on overnight. The sugar will halt the bad bacteria growth and the redness. Gently wash your face in the morning.
Extend the life of your holiday flowers
You’re at the grocery store and you pick up a bouquet of flowers to extend the life of those blooms add 1 Tbsp. of sugar and 1 Tbsp. vinegar to the vase. The sugar provides nourishment for the flowers and the vinegar kills bacteria that will cause your blooms to wilt early.
