Hulk Rice Cereal Treats

I may not be a comic book fanatic, but I know one thing’s for sure: Avengers Infinity War is coming to theatres today… and it’ll be a strong/ huge hit.

I’m getting into the spirit by putting together some superhero treats… cereal treats, that is! I knew that I wanted to make something Avengers-related but couldn’t put my finger on what. Then, I thought of the Hulk. He’s green with purple shorts and has such a large (and angry) personality. His character was perfect for what I had in mind.

My Hulk Cereal Treats are the perfect addition to any superhero-themed party. They’re easy to put together and your little guests will want more and more! (Hopefully, there will be no Hulk Smashes in your future when they scramble for second helpings.)

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter divided
  • 27 large marshmallows
  • 3-4 small drops Kelly green gel food coloring
  • 4 cups rice cereal
  • 1.5 cups purple candy melts
  • 3 tsp coconut oil divided
  • ½ cup dark brown candy melts
  • ½ cup dark brown sprinkles
  • Candy decorating eyes
  • Black decorating frosting ready-made

Instructions

  1. Coat a 9x9 square pan with 2 tbsp of butter and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 3 tbsp butter and add all of your marshmallows. Stir until marshmallow is completed melted.
  3. Color marshmallow mix with green food coloring and add rice cereal. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  4. Evenly pat your cereal treats to the base of your coated pan. You can use a piece of wax paper to smooth it out (and so that your hands don’t get too sticky).
  5. Allow for it to set (about one hour) and cut into rectangles. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
  6. Microwave your purple candy melts and 2 tsp of coconut oil in 30-second intervals until melted. Dip the bottom of each of your cereal treats (about ¼ of the way up) and set on the lined baking sheet.
  7. Microwave your black candy melts and 1 tsp of coconut oil in 30-second intervals until melted. Dip the top of each of your cereal treats and add sprinkles. This will act as the Hulk’s disheveled hair.
  8. Using your black buttercream, stick on the candy eyes on the green portion of the cereal treats. Draw black buttercream lines above the candy eyes – these will act as the Hulk’s angry eyebrows.
  9. Hulk smash! Enjoy this angry treats!
