If you’re trying to eliminate pesky stains, you might find that expensive store-bought cleaning products just don’t do the trick. Luckily, there are a number of ways you can eliminate stains without cleaners. You may even have some of these alternative cleaning products in your household.

Here are three ways to get rid of stubborn stains for good:

  1. Remove stains from carpet or clothing with vinegar. For carpets stains, you’ll want to use 1/3 water to 2/3 distilled white vinegar. If you’re trying to remove a stain from your clothing, simply dab a cloth dampened with vinegar on the area. Vinegar works to remove all types of stains, ranging from fruit juices to beer.
  2. Get rid of blood stains with hydrogen peroxide or ammonia. On white clothes, you can remove blood stains by dabbing on some hydrogen peroxide and then washing the same way you normally would. Remove blood stains from colored clothing by pouring an ammonia and water mixture on the area. Wash it later on.
  3. Eliminate coffee stains by using club soda. Whether you’ve spilled coffee on your clothing, the carpet, or a tablecloth, you can remove it by pouring club soda on the area until the stain is gone.

These are just three ways to get rid of stubborn stains for good! No matter what you’ve spilled, there’s likely some way to get rid of it.
